Abstract: Bu çalışmada, özellikle inme ve yaralanmalar sonrasında rehabilitasyon amaçlı kompakt, düşük maliyetli ve iki serbestlik dereceli bir parmak dış iskeletinin tasarımı, prototip üretimi ve testleri sunulmuştur.
This paper addresses the design, prototyping and tests of a compact, cost-effective and two-degreeof- freedom finger exoskeleton system for rehabilitation of after-stroke and injured patients. As the main novelty of the system, an over-constrained double-spherical 6R mechanism is used around the finger to obtain a compact design. First, the desired motion of an index finger is determined and kinematic synthesis of the 6R mechanism is performed accordingly. Motor torque requirements are calculated using virtual work principle based on using force values available in the literature. Then appropriate motors are selected. Arduino control card and MATLAB Simulink are used to control the servo-motors, whereas the mechanism links are mainly 3D-printed which enables a system architecture for customized production. Finally, functional tests for the built prototype are carried out. This is merely a first prototype with a double-spherical 6R mechanism and serves as a proof-ofconcept. The results may shed light to further studies.
