Abstract: Survey results show that software practitioners from nonsoftware-related backgrounds face more barriers, have fewer benefits, and feel less satisfied in their work life. However, these differences reduce with more than 10 years of experience and involvement in software-related graduate programs, certificates, and mentorship.
